A podcast for true comic book fans
So another New York Comic Con is in the books, and I got to say the show is back! Last year the convention felt very lacking. We were still in the middle of the pandemic so most of the publishers and vendors weren’t at the show, the attendance was very low and it felt empty. But this year was a much different story, the crowds were back and the energy was high!
Some of the highlights for me were seeing the premiere of Mortal Kombat Legends Snow Blind (Click here for my review), I’ve met a lot of great people and got some great interviews (coming soon to the podcast) and got a lot of great cosplay pictures (check out and follow our Instagram feed) And as an added bonus I took my son and girlfriend and got to see the con through the eyes of people who hadn’t ever ben there before. They were overwhelmed, but had a great time!
Some highlights from the show include the release of the new Wednesday trailer with our first look at Uncle Fester:
The release of the first trailer for The Super Mario Bros movie:
Of course one of the biggest moment at NYCC this year was the tearful Back to the Future reunion of Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lyod.
The biggest change to NYCC was the use of the expansion to the Jacob K. Javits convention center. All of the panels now take place in the expanded section and the 5th floor now has a giant hall called the Empire Stage which I feel was added to compete with San Diego’s famous Hall H. NYCC now has an excellent place for big announcements to help rival SDCC going forward.
So in conclusion it was a great New York Comic Con this year, highly enjoyable for all and I can’t wait for next year. Keep listening to the podcast for more great content from the show!
